The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is an architectural marvel and one of Abu Dhabi’s most popular tourist destinations. ICON was assigned to complete the grounds and design a unique 20-hectare landscape.

The landscape park extension is designed to guide visitors through a path of manicured walkways leading towards the mosque. The greenery, which surrounds the original landscape, is aligned in an artistic floral motif, which is a central design element used in the mosque. The new landscape follows a sustainable and xeriscape approach with more than 70% gravel and sand surfaces, while maintaining the decorative aesthetic of the grounds and views of the iconic dome skyline.
