PRESIDENTIAL PALACE

In 2010, ICON won an international competition to design of the surrounding landscape of the new Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi. The Palace’s landscape design is the first of its kind in the Middle East, considering its grand scale and rich architectural form.

Within the 130-hectare core area, the central Palace is located on an elevated platform, complemented by the ornamental design of the surrounding palace gardens. Manicured ‘carpet’ patterned gardens, intricately paved plazas and 62 sophisticated water features adorn the grounds, to support the timeless and traditional detailing of the landscape. ICON has designed a unique lighting series, to complement the local and ornamental style of the architecture.
